When I first tried to help a friend fill out an overseas application, I learned two things fast: the system was bewildering and the help available was either overpriced or impersonal. I watched bright students, often the first in their families to aim beyond local colleges, shrivel at the thought of test fees, visa forms, and essays written for a foreign admissions officer. That frustration became my fuel. I started The arch international out of a tiny room, a second-hand laptop, and a promise to myself: make honest, outcome-focused guidance accessible to students who had the will but not the roadmap.
